Avoid Free Online Credit Reports With Strings Attached. The convenience of obtaining your credit reports directly online makes online requests very popular as it reduces the waiting time to almost zero. But a word of caution in that you do really need to read between the fine lines on the online company?s terms and conditions as some provide free credit reports only if you purchase their credit repair program or credit repair consultation services. Yet, there are other which you may choose only to obtain your free online report without opting for their paid products or services.
Avoid The Free Combo Credit Reports. Be in mind that the ultimate objective of obtaining your credit score and credit reports is for credit repair. Credit repair needs to be executed with comparing and correcting individual credit score from each of the key credit reports you obtain separately. Hence, if you are offered free credit reports which are combination of your 3 major credit report bureaus, they are of little use to you.
Avoid Watered Down Version of Free Online Credit Reports. In addition, avoid free online credit reports which are overtly simplified or condensed. More comprehensive information in your credit report allows you to understand your errors and helps you to rectify them more efficiently. Watered down versions of credit reports serve no purpose to you as a user but are simply lead generation tools for the online credit companies to sell you their repair packages. Get Your Free Credit Report From The Credit Bureaus. There are a number of avenues to get your credit scores. You can approach credit report bureaus directly to get copies of your credit reports. Know that you are eligible for 1 free credit report per year for any of the credit report bureaus. So you may not need to pay. You also qualify for a free credit report if you are in a situation whereby you have recently been rejected for credit or if you believe that you may be a victim of identity theft.
Avoid Incomplete Credit Reports. Some credit reporting bureaus provide not only a watered down versions of free online credit reports, they also provide either your credit reports or your credit scores. Understand that both credit reports and credit scores are very critical to your credit repair endeavors and one cannot do without the other as direct reference is important. If you must pay to obtain both, do so.
Ensure that you get a user friendly full credit report package so that you do not encounter problems reading and deciphering the information. Better still if they should come with good explanatory graphics as well.
